I think this well represents how important review is. Even though I know review/back up is essential, sadly this situation happens to me very frequently...
Because I want my students not to experience this, I will tell them "please make a back-up of what you learn!"

Hi Nana,
I agree with you that review is extremely important for a student. As you can tell by my blog, I am studying to become a French teacher. After I graduated with my BA, I did not use my French for 2 years...I should have reviewed more because if you don't use it, you lose it...(that goes more for second languages though) It is all coming back to me, but I still need to review more...

Hi, Nana.
I really understand student's feeling well. However hard I study in the semester, I soon forget almost all next semester.....Not students, I need to review it, sigh....
Hi Jen,
I took French for two years when I was in my college, but I stop taking courses and studying it. So my knowledge of French separates...
Have you been to France? France is one of the countries I'd love to go!

Hi Keiko,
I have also experienced what you said. I often say "well, it sounds familiar", but I cannot explain what exactly it is and why it soudns familiar to me. I need to organize and review what I learned...
Nana
Review IS important. Sometimes I can't even blame my students because i've been through the same situation where i've forgotten things and really felt like my brain is blocked.
Hi Nana, I will tell my students too, "Make a back-up copy of your brain!" (although I could hardly remember what I learned either...T_T)
